Insurance underwriters use analytical skills to review information from applicants to evaluate the degree of risk involved in a business or operation and determine if the applicant should be approved for a policy. The underwriter uses technology and data to determine the coverages to provide and the premium to be charged for the risk. Our underwriting professionals use strong communication and customer service skills by asking questions and making decisions over the phone and via e-mail with our agents. Responsibilities Responsibilities include participating in on-the-job training and applying analytical and decision-making skills to evaluate risk. Collaborate with agents by phone and e-mail to gather information, determine coverage and pricing, and support policy issuance.
