Are you driven by a desire to help others overcome substance use disorders? Our client is seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC) to join our compassionate, multidisciplinary team. This role is vital to our mission, supporting clients in achieving lasting recovery through individual and group counseling, community referrals, and treatment planning.

About the Role: As a Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC), you'll provide direct assessment, intervention, and counseling to clients and their families. You'll collaborate with facility staff and medical personnel, lead group sessions, and document client progress to ensure that each client's treatment journey is effectively supported.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individual and group counseling sessions, promote recovery, and provide supportive intervention.
• Collaborate with team members to assess and adjust treatment plans.
• Coordinate with community resources to support clients' recovery journeys.
• Document client interactions and progress in medical records.
• Actively participate in staff meetings, training, and team-building activities.

What We're Looking For:

• Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC or tCADC) is required, higher (e.g., International Alcohol and Drug Counselor (IADC), International Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (IAADC), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)) certification or license in the State of Iowa is preferred.
• Associate degree (or tCADC, currently pursuing an Associate degree) in human services, psychology, social work, or a related field required
• Three or more years of experience working as an SUD Counselor may be considered as a substitute for an Associate degree. Bachelor's or master's preferred.
