*Job description*

Friesen’s Inc is seeking a TIG Welder Lead to join our growing team. We are looking for a skilled TIG Welder who is motivated to guide our welding team in producing high-quality stainless steel fabrication for the food industry. This position involves supervising a team, planning and assigning work, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met. Candidates must have 5+ years of TIG welding experience and at least 2+ years of leading a team. If you’re ready to lead with purpose and elevate performance- Friesen’s wants to hear from you!

*Key Responsibilities*

* Lead and mentor a team of TIG Welders and Tackers in daily operations
* Performing quality checks and maintenance
* Review fabrication drawings and assign tasks to ensure accurate and timely completion
* Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards
* Troubleshoot and rework defective welds as necessary
* Use SolidWorks to find any additional measurements or information missing from drawings
* Work with engineering and project management teams to review designs and provide input
* Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and work orders to determine welding requirements, layout jobs, and ensure accuracy
* Assist in hands-on TIG welding as needed to meet deadlines
* Manage the annual reviews for employees
* Hold a daily meeting with your team

*Skills and Qualifications*

* 5+ years of TIG welding and stainless steel fabrications (preferably in food-grade manufacturing
* Certificate in welding or other form of welding training
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Proficient in reading blueprints and fabrication drawings
* The ability and experience in leading others on the team
* Strong understanding of welding procedures, finishing standards, and metal prep
* Equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting
* Precision tack welding and fit-up techniques
* Skill in positioning, fitting, and tacking components accurately according to prints
* Training employees, providing performance appraisals, and resolving team complaints or problems
* Commitment to maintaining a safe work xuwmhxw environment and following all safety policies and procedures
* Knowledge of weld symbols and tolerances
* Collaborating with engineers to help resolve fabrication questions and improve processes

*Shifts*
1st shift Monday – Friday 6:30 am – 3:00 pm

*Pay Frequency*

Biweekly
