Job Description

We're a small creative team of video game developers who are focused on creating kind, collaborative, and imaginative games. We formed in late 2019, with the desire to assemble the best and brightest in the industry to work on carefully selected projects that we deem innovative and challenging.

As an Technical Art Intern at Sunblink, you'll partner with art team members to create, prep, update and integrate art assets into the world of Hello Kitty Island Adventure. You'll learn with some of the most talented artists in the industry while working with advanced tools, techniques and pipelines. This role will be hands-on with character meshes and rigs, work with props, rewards, environment assets, advanced integration tools and have an immediate impact on the world of Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

This job is based in Boulder, CO. Remote options are available in qualied situations.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility will be to use existing pipelines, processes and tools to transform production art into game ready assets. This will include:

• Skinning meshes to existing rigs, testing and integration
• Review, update, integration of static meshes and character accessories
• Unity material creation and hookup
• 3D icon creation using in-house tools
• Use our ticketing system to update status and facilitate hand-offs
• Daily communication with team members on status, plans and execution

Qualications

• Experience with Version control software, Photoshop, Maya
• Proven experience working with art assets in the Unity engine
• Mesh weighting and rigging fundamentals (Maya)
• Understanding of game art production and nomenclature
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to manage work & communication in a hybrid environment
• Empathetic perspective, especially regarding conict resolution
• An attitude that sees failure as an opportunity

Pluses

• Rudimentary understanding of game design and a desire to make games fun
• Positive, upbeat attitude
• Animation skills
• Scripting experience with C# and Python
