About the Role

We are seeking a results-driven Quality Control Manager to lead our Quality Assurance and Compliance operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our products, services, and processes meet rigorous internal standards and external regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in quality systems, compliance oversight, and team leadership, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management

  • Develop, implement, and manage quality assurance programs and policies.
  • Oversee testing and inspection of raw materials, in-process products, and final outputs.
  • Conduct and lead internal/external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Analyze quality control data and provide actionable feedback to production teams.
  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment and tools.
  • Direct the activities of the Quality Control and Compliance team.

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards (ISO 9001, FDA, OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Coordinate regulatory audits, reporting, and communication with external bodies.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance issues with recommended corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Conduct employee training on compliance and quality systems.
  • Collaborate across departments to manage regulatory risks and maintain high compliance standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise the Quality Control and Compliance Department, including Supervisors and entry-level staff.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations and contribute to hiring, staffing, and development decisions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead cross-functional quality improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as the company’s main point of contact during regulatory inspections and certifications.
  • Engage suppliers and vendors to ensure external quality requirements are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance/control, regulatory compliance, or a related function.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO, FDA, OSHA, EPA).
  • Preferred certifications:
    • Certified Quality Manager (CQM)
    • Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE)
    • Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP)

  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Deep understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • High attention to detail and integrity in all work.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Split time between multiple facilities as needed.
  • Occasional travel to suppliers and customers; extended stays may be required.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and travel by car regularly.

Equipment Knowledge

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and inspection software.
  • Experience using calipers, gauges, and digital inspection tools.
  • Working knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) is a plus.
