Portfolio Asset Manager (Multifamily)

Huber Equity Group is seeking an experienced  multifamily real estate leader with a background in property management. In this role, you will serve as a coach and advisor to our third-party property management partners—providing guidance, accountability, and operational expertise to help them successfully execute our business plans. 

As a  hands-on, servant leader , you will be regularly communicating with our third-party managers, setting vision, aligning priorities, and collaborating closely to deliver results. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on mentoring others, solving operational challenges, and driving excellence across a portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive Operations & Maximize NOI

  • Act as a strategic liaison between Huber Equity Group’s leadership and onsite teams, ensuring alignment with business plans and organizational goals.
  • Audit property performance metrics to uncover operational inefficiencies, identify risks, and highlight opportunities— leveraging your prior experience and operational knowledge to recommend solutions that drive NOI growth and enhance resident satisfaction.
  • Lead ongoing property oversight through bi-weekly calls with site teams and quarterly on-site visits. Provide actionable feedback and updates to both management and ownership, ensuring alignment with business plan objectives and continuous improvement across the portfolio.
  • Provide an additional layer of coaching and support for on-site teams , enabling them to focus on daily operations while ensuring long-term performance goals are met. 

Assist in Property Takeovers

  • Assist with acquisition due diligence by walking units, evaluating physical conditions, and conducting market analysis—including shopping local properties and property managers.
  • Support the VP of Asset Management during transitions, partnering with property management teams to ensure smooth integration into the portfolio.

Oversee Reporting Accuracy & Execution

  • Review and interpret monthly financial statements to uncover performance gaps and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations that enhance NOI and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in investor and lender reporting , fostering transparency, compliance, and trust with stakeholders.
  • Deliver concise, insight-driven asset management reports for the leadership team each month, highlighting performance, risks, and progress toward business plan objectives.
  • Oversee CapEx initiatives from planning through completion , ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget; prepare and process draw and replacement reserve requests to support project success.

Compensation:

$95,000-105,000 annual salary with annual bonus potential of $20,000, and additional acquisition and disposition bonus opportunities. 

Full benefits package starting day 30 of employment, including a competitive (5%) 401k matching program, company-sponsored health insurance (75% of premium cost covered), Employer HSA contributions and generous PTO package. 

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in multifamily property operations as a regional or multi-site manager. 
  • Proven track record of driving NOI growth through operational improvements and capital projects.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience writing budgets, completing variance reports, and submitting ownership reporting.
  • Hands-on leadership style with willingness to engage directly with property managers.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with ability to align diverse stakeholders and drive accountability
  • This position will require occasional travel, for quarterly visits and due diligence periods.
