The Position:

We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Medicaid Billing Specialist to lead billing operations for 91 Place. This position is essential to building a sustainable, trauma-informed mental health care model.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, submit, and track Medicaid claims using CaseWorthy or similar billing platforms.
• Ensure all billing complies with Medicaid coding regulations and documentation requirements.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and authorizations.
• Monitor claim status, manage denials, and ensure timely follow-up on unpaid claims.
• Post payments and reconcile Medicaid remittances with internal records.
• Work closely with the Clinical and Finance teams to ensure ongoing billing compliance.
• Identify trends or discrepancies in billing reports and recommend improvements.
• Help optimize billing systems to increase accuracy and revenue flow.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of direct experience with Medicaid billing and coding.
• Medical billing certification, preferred (e.g., CPC, CMRS, or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of ICD/CPT coding, Medicaid claim processing, and payer compliance standards.
• Proficiency in CaseWorthy or comparable billing software.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage tasks independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across departments.

Salary & Benefits:

• $20-23/hour based on 20-27 hours/week
• Potential for remote/hybrid work
