Job Description

Field Operations Manager, Amazon Flex AU

Job ID: 2888530 | Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd

At Amazon we are building a world class last mile operation, significantly complemented by Amazon Flex. Amazon Flex works directly with independent contractors – called delivery partners – to make deliveries to our customers. With Amazon Flex, individuals can now be their own boss delivering Amazon packages. Amazon Flex is powered by a mobile app that works in concert with our advanced logistics systems that allows delivery partners to onboard, schedule delivery times, guide them through their deliveries with in-app mapping and navigation, and more.

We are seeking a passionate, dynamic, analytical, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Field Operations Manager to help grow our network of Delivery Partners and ensure that we are offering them the support to deliver on our customer promise. The successful applicant will act as the lynchpin between the Flex program and our daily operations in the network of Delivery Stations across Australia. They will partner with station teams to deliver world-class safety, optimise operational processes and provide hands-on support to the tens of thousands of Delivery Partners driving with us every day, while also implementing major operational projects and programs. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in an exciting, fast growing last mile delivery operation.

This role will own overall Field Operations for Australia, supported by two junior Field Operations Managers each responsible for one of the two delivery station regions in Australia: the North region, covering NSW and QLD; and the South region, covering VIC, SA and WA.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, passionate, highly analytical and detail-oriented, possess superior inter-personal and communication skills, and be comfortable working hands-on alongside operations teams in our delivery station network to drive safety, quality and productivity in a fast-paced environment. A strong bias for action is an absolute must, and candidates must demonstrate a superior track record of delivering results.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Continuously look for improvements to standardize and drive scalability in all Amazon delivery station and pick-up locations. Actions will be targeted at country-level improvements across our entire network.
  2. Launch new last mile products and features, manage and coordinate large, complicated projects with multiple stakeholders including Product, Technology, Marketing, Legal, PR and Operations.
  3. Drive accountability for under-the-roof and on-road metrics, including safety, productivity and quality, from the regional Field Operations Managers.
  4. Be responsible for completing site audits, reviewing key operational processes & area readiness. This involves site visits across Victoria, South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia.
  5. Confidently conduct deep dive analysis alongside presenting corrective actions for weekly and monthly business reviews with senior stakeholders.
  6. Working with Business Intelligence teams to create robust reporting mechanisms in order to maximize operational visibility.
  7. Accountability for meeting and showing willingness to exceed operational goals.

About the team

You will join a collaborative team dedicated to supporting our delivery partners and enhancing customer experience. Working alongside two regional Field Operations Managers, you'll oversee operations across the North region (NSW/QLD) and South region (VIC/SA/WA).

Minimum Qualifications

  1. 3+ years of program or project management experience
  2. 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
  3. 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
  4. Bachelor's degree
  5. Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
  6. Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  2. 5+ years of driving process improvements experience
  3. Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  4. Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
