Job Description

As the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, you will play a pivotal role within the finance leadership team, overseeing and refining financial planning and analysis processes. Your responsibilities include developing, consolidating, and effectively communicating detailed financial and operational results to both internal and external stakeholders. In this position, you will identify key drivers influencing business performance and assist leaders in recognizing, tracking, measuring, and optimizing areas for improved profitability within their respective functions.

Essential Job Functions:

Financial Analysis:

• Conduct thorough financial analyses, incorporating variance analyses to identify trends and opportunities for enhancement.

Performance Reporting:

• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management.
• Complete month-end bank reporting with actual versus plan analysis.
• Track key performance indicators, offering analyses to support business decisions.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with the executive team to establish financial targets.
• Develop accurate and comprehensive financial forecasts to guide decision-making.
• Evaluate and analyze key financial metrics, identifying opportunities for margin and cost improvement.

Strategic Planning:

• Collaborate closely with senior management to formulate and execute financial strategies aligned with the firm’s investment goals and long-term business plans.

Scenario Analysis:

• Stay informed about industry trends and market conditions to inform financial planning.
• Conduct product pricing/mix/SKU analysis to assess profitability.
• Perform machine capacity and profitability analysis.
• Create operator dashboards to drive accountability.
• Model and analyze various financial scenarios to evaluate the impact of potential acquisitions and strategic initiatives.
• Participate in ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.

Cash Flow Management:

• Oversee the 13-week cash flow, ensuring liquidity needs are met while optimizing capital allocation.

Risk Assessment:

• Identify and assess financial risks, recommending mitigation strategies to safeguard the private equity owner's investment.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong expertise in financial modeling and forecasting.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in financial software, including Excel, financial modeling tools, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; Workday (Adaptive Planning) experience is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. MBA, CPA, or CFA designation is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis and planning, preferably with a background in private equity or banking.
• Knowledge of the printing and converting or similar manufacturing industry is advantageous.
