Job Description

Job Title: Director of Educational Media and Video Producer

Reports To: Director of Educational Technology

Location: On-Campus and Remote

Pay: $55,536-$73,994

General Statement of Job Function

The Director of Educational Media and Video Producer directs the creation of educational media for online courses and approved media projects. This position also supervises and provides strategic direction for the media production team within the Educational Technology department.

Essential Functions

  • Organize and direct all aspects of video production, including coordination of recoding times, studio set-up, pre-production assets, and direct on larger projects.
  • Supervision, direction, and training of media specialists to ensure media production is within scope and production timelines.
  • Manage budget for media production and studio operation.
  • Manage and direct production workflow on all video projects, including video/audio editing, school branding to ensure quality standards are maintained across the entire production process.
  • Work cross functionally to ensure seamless and efficient production processes for faculty, instructional designers, and media specialists.
  • Oversee and produce video and sound projects including concept development, video recording, shots list, editing, and developing production schedules.
  • Perform regular need assessments to determine current and future equipment requirements and make recommendations for budgeting and procuring equipment and tools.
  • Acquire, organize, and manage digital assets for video and course production.

Secondary Functions

  • Perform job duties of media specialist as needed.
  • Maintain and organize studio equipment and digital assets.
  • Collaborate with communications and Information Technology departments as needed to provide additional audio/video team support for chapel events.

Education/Training

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent experience.
  • Broad experience with video, audio, and graphic software and best practices of media production.
  • Supervisory experience required.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency knowledge in all areas of video production, including storyboarding, lighting, sound, editing.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Exceptional time management and ability to work under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Suite, especially Premiere & After Affects.
  • Committed personal relationship with Jesus Christ required and a lifestyle consistent with the Seminary’s Community Values and Behavioral Commitments .
  • Able to work independently and within directed initiatives.
  • Agreement with Denver Seminary statement of faith.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate using a variety of tools: phone, email, videoconferencing, chat etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and exercise creativity and initiative. Skilled in problem solving, and the ability to quickly learn new software.

  • Media production team’s staffing and assignment needs are met.
  • Gives and receives feedback for higher quality video production.
  • Multiple video projects are produced from ideation through delivery.

Typical Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Normal office working conditions including computer usage, audio and video equipment usage, walking, long periods of standing, climb stairs, balance; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
