Job Title: Hybrid Remote Client/Patient Advocate
Supervisor: Hospital Administration
We have exciting opportunities for veterinary professionals to join our general practice and emergency hospital! The successful Client/Patient Advocate candidate will facilitate a smooth operation between our Veterinarians, Vet Assistants, Vet Techs and Client Service Representatives. They will communicate effectively with all levels of our staff and understand the needs and requests of both our internal clients and our external clients.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Completion of Veterinary Technology AAS or BA/BS preferred but not required
CVT, RVT, or LVT Certifications preferred but not required
Previous veterinary experience required
Proficient in use of ezyVet PIMS
Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
Ability to learn and continually train
Patience and respect for patients and clients
Excellent communication skills, coordination, and ability to take direction
Ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment
Essential Functions:
Must be able to ambulate/move 90% of time
Must be able to move supplies and patients up to 50 pounds
Must be able to use Fear-Free techniques to restrain patients
Must have the ability to work in a hospital setting, which includes:
Exposure to potential caustic agents, medical grade radiation, and cleaning products
Exposure to zoonotic diseases and wounds potentially inflicted by patients
Exposure to moderate to loud noises (such as barking)
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Send all General Practice appointments pre-visit forms. Screen for completion, and follow up verbally with clients to facilitate completion.
Input all necessary history information from pre-visit forms.
Assist with rescheduling as needed to meet client and patient needs.
Confirm all deposits taken, pre-visit medications dispensed, and directions for appointments are relayed to the client.
Complete all critical follow up calls and assist in determining what constitutes a critical follow up alert.
Communicate with clients as needed regarding the medical status of their pets.
Call owners with normal lab results.
Assist in filtering notes from doctors.
Be familiar with hospital protocols (operational, medical, etc.).
Be familiar with common side effects of medications and common treatment plans based on treatments and certain disease processes.
Be familiar with commonly used products.
Assist doctors with client communication when the doctor is not available.
Make triage decisions quickly and decisively.
Work in office one day per week after orientation period.
Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor and/or management staff.
Adhering to all Absecon Veterinary Hospital policies and procedures.
Attending all team and department meetings as assigned.
