The Field Museum Housekeeping Team plays a vital role in maintaining the quality and beauty of our historic building for visitors and staff. The housekeeping team is responsible for ensuring consistently clean and well-maintained areas within the public and administrative areas of the museum.

Duties and Responsibilities:

No prior experience performing job duties below required

  1. Vacuuming
  2. Damp wiping
  3. Sanitizing bathroom fixtures
  4. Mopping floors
  5. Special project work as assigned

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Previous housekeeping/janitorial experience not required
  3. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  4. Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  5. Ability to bend and reach
  6. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  7. Ability and experience using various tools, products, and equipment
  8. Ability to work independently and on a team
  9. Professional demeanor and appearance with a willingness to assist visitors and staff when approached

Supervision Received:
Receives general supervision from the Director, Facility Planning & Operations

Supervision Exercised:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Hours and Shift:
40 hours per week

Pay Range: $19.00/Hourly
